    1. Download my preferred Antivirus installer.

    2. Uninstall Norton Antivirus.

    3. Run the Antivirus installer.

Is it the right way to uninstall Norton?

Besides, is AVG or Avast the best free antivirus available? And where can I find the link to download?

    Thanks guy :)

When I uninstalled Norton recently (the trial version was up, though I liked the product), I did the following:

    1. Downloaded the new, free antivirus.
    2. Disconnected from the internet.
    3. Uninstalled Norton.
    4. Installed the new antivirus.
    5. Reconnected to the internet.
    6. Updated the antivirus.

Concerning AVG and Avast--I like both but prefer AVG. However, AVG's automatic update would hang in the background on my computer and use heat up the processor (I had never had that problem in XP), so I tried Avast. Avast, though, conflicts with CCleaner, at least at present.

So, I switched to Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic. I've had no problems but will probably switch back to AVG when there's another update.

    Hope you the best.
