Is there software that can tell you if the monitor to a laptop is closed/open or is there a view for that in Windows somewhere? I'm remoting into someones computer to do work and am just curious.

Why don't you ask 'that' someone? and if they aren't going to be there while you're 'remoting', then ask beforehand.

Sorry, but sounds spooky mate.. lol.

    Not that I'm aware of.
Perhaps your remote access software has a setting for screen off?

That is possible. Long story. I'm trying to teach someone what I'm doing and the laptop is set to do nothing when the lid is closed and I sware she is closing it, not paying attention. lol

If you're using Windows' built-in remote desktop, as soon as you log in, the local person will only see the computer is being used and locked screen, and the screen may go to screen saver or turn itself off based on the local setting.

well, even if a software tells you if the screen is on, it can't tell you if she is looking away... or gone fishing for that matter...
