This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     This application opens op in the taskmanager

    wuauclt.exe

    Windows Update bla bla

    I have turned off windows automatic update, but still it appears for like 10 min. or more

    Can it be removed?

    normally if windows update is off, then it shouldn't be showing up. Do you have windows update completely off or on another setting?

    Go to Start>Run>type msconfig>go to startup, if you see it there or something similar uncheck it and click ok...it will ask you to restart...thats up to you.

    its not a software starting though, so it won't be in MSCONFIG. It is an update process for XP. Like if you have XP set to notify you of installs, this process will run. It is directly related to windows update, so either you have an update that is waiting to install (should see an icon in the taskbar), or windows update is set to something, other than manually update.
