So everytime I boot this black box pops up for maybe 1 second, I can't even see what it says, luckily I was able to screen capture it...anyone know how to fix this?

How do I get rid of it? Delete it? I am surprised I have any "viruses" as I keep this thing clean as can be! I run windows defender and use glary utilities as well as CCleaner..

Oh and I highly appreciate you taking the time to help me on this one!

Download Microsoft Security Essentials (free) and scan your drive. If it finds nothing, download a trial of Norton and scan. Windows Defender isn't exactly an anti-virus tool.

Would you recommend buying Norton 360 and discarding MSE? I am hesitant to put anything on my computer that is gonna slow it down like a full blown antivirus program

if you havnt got an antivirus program then you are asking for trouble.
also have you got windows firewall activated?

yes there are people on here that say you dont need a antivirus program but they know everything to know about computers. as you asked the question above it means you must have a antivirus program loaded.
i have used avast pro for 2 years now and find it great but everyone has their own opinion which is best.
best thing is to trial all the main ones, mse, avast, norton, eset, avg etc and see which you like best. but only have one av program loaded at a time as they will conflict with each other.

Yea I have been running MSE, but it appears a few things have slipped by it, I like Norton a lot and from what I heard it uses less resources than MSE so its lighter on your system by quite a bit

I have found Kaspersky and Malwarebytes (paid) to be very effective. Download and run Malwarebytes Free to check your current issue.

IF your xRss.exe is legit, here is the definition:

    A tiny RSS reader.

xRss is a very simple, easy to use RSS reader that will appear in the form of a moving text at the bottom of your desktop.

    See this from SoftPedia:

Thanks! Yea I don't think it was a virus, must have been a file added somehow through an application because once I deleted it, the black box never came up after boot
