Why do games run in a little window? How do I fix this? Is it because the game is running in a lower resolution and it won't fill screen?
How do I change the name my copy of windows xp pro is registered too. Not the name on the start menu, but the name that appears in system properties and when you ctrl-alt-del.
How do I better edit my start menu. When I right-click and explore the start menu to try and edit it how I like, not all the programs show up on it.

I can just answer your second question.
You have to change a key in the registry. To open the registry press Start > Run > regedit > OK
The following is the path to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersion
The key to modify is RegisteredOwner. Just double-click it and enter the new name. You can also change RegisterOrganization if you want.
The next time you start the computer you should have the new name in Computer Properties (the registry is only loaded when Windows is loaded so you have to restart the computer)

answer to question 3
If you are running Windows XP, your programs will be split into different users such as: All users, User name 1, User name 2....
I suggest moving everything you really want, to the "all users-start menu-programs" folder and remove the programs from the other users. Do remember though that if you have other people using the computer they will be affected by this change.
Question about question 1
Do you mean little window like, you can still see your desktop and the game runs in a window that has the minimize maximize and close option? or do you mean it's a little window that just doesn't fill the whole screen, the edges are black?

Thanks for all the replies.
Chandler - I mean it doesn't fill the whole screen as in it has black borders around the edge. If I change the resolution to 1024x768 (the max/default for my monitor) it fills the whole screen, but what if I want to play 800x600 and in full screen? Is that possible? If I'm playing a game which struggles on my system (acer 3201xci) i'd want to lower the res to even 640x480.. but obviosuly i'd want it to be full screen still.
Enigmatic - I managed to change the registered user and it appears in system properties, but I noticed that when I ctrl-alt-del the previous registered name is listed many times in processes under 'user name' is there any way to change this over too? Would I have to do it all manually. -
I don't know chaiseylain, some lcd's just don't like to be run at anything other then the native resolution and it may not be possible to fix this issue. Try updated video drivers and or a different refresh rate. If you shrink the resolution in windows does it do the same?

The reason you see the previous registered name is probably because you are using the previous user account. If you create a new user account than the processes will be run by the new account and the name will thereby change.
If you create a new account you might have to copy certain stuff from the old account to the new one, e.g. desktop, favourites, documents, etc. The account folders are usually found under Cocuments and Settings; each user has a folder with the same name as the user account.

Thanks again, I'll try that when I get home.
Can I throw one other question into the mixer. It is really bugging me... How do I get rid of the 'My Bluetooth Places' icon from the desktop!? There is no option to right-click delete, there is no option to remove from desktop properties, and there is no option to 'not show icon on desktop' in any of the bluetooth otions. -
I don't know if this helps, but when I installed my bluetooth adapter, I was asked if I wanted to place 'My Bluetooth Places' on the desktop and in another couple of places (Start Menu and My Computer). I unchecked all of them and now I don't see 'My Bluetooth Places'. Maybe it is different with each device but you could try.
You would probably have to uninstall the bluetooth device and then install it again to.
