when you compose a message in Thunderbird, the window has (by default) four "lines" in the "To:" field. is there any way to configure this area and drop the number of "lines" down to 1? i've looked for an extension, but no luck.

I use Thunderbird also, and this is a nuisance for me too.

I would suggest dropping a message in the thunderbird forum. Usually folks there have the solutions, or some mozilla developer will provide a fix.
