I've got a Toshiba L750 PSK2YA 09J028 that won't play burnt discs.
I burned them from a Sony RDR-HX870 DVD Recorder.
I used to have a M300 until a terminal failure occured, but more another time about that.
Although they way it was sold as new it didn't have a codec for Windows Media Player, not that it mattered as it had an inbuilt Toshiba Player which i was able to use, but (you guessed) they played fine.
The L750 doesn't play any burned discs from the 870, although any discs been DVD-R or +R i have copied have no problems with playing.
i also haven't made any movies on the L750 or the M300 so i'm unable to report if these work or not.
are there any suggestions i should try.
maybe i should download a Tohsiba DVD player from somewhere.
thanks,
Mark Perry

try a different burning software. 9 free ones in my sig below.
also try vlc media player > VideoLAN - Official page for VLC media player, the Open Source video framework! which plays almost every disc available. -
Fixed the topic, so nobody thinks about Burt Reynolds...
Can you see the contents of those discs if you just open them in Computer? If they refuse to open at all, it might be some sort of compatibility issue. -
yes it appears in the My Computer and the Windows Media Player library, but trying both it doesn't start.
oridinary dvds play fine.
official dvds which are pressed on dvd-r or dvd+r format (eg.tas steam alive video* ) the 'copy' i've made of those using the M300 have played fine on the DVD Recorder i've mentioned and the L750.
* Tasmanian Railway Videos and Photos
so is it the laptop is fine coult it be a software bug?
but as i said i didn't try WMP on the M300 so i'm not sure if the same fault occurs there.
also i simply didn't get a codec for the M300 because i wasn't sure where i could get one that would be appropriate, and because the Toshiba Player program worked i left the WMP as is.
hopefully this additional info helps.
thanks
