I have a Toshiba satellite p100 with xp on it and one day all of the sudden the volume shows a red cross over it and then i tried to re-install the driver from toshiba website but the driver wont get install then i re-formatted with windows 7 and tried to install vista drivers and even tried xp drivers but of no use, vista drivers got recognized and when i play something i can see that the volume indicators are moving(wave form) but no sound is coming from the speakers(speakers are harmon/kardon

Then i tried to re-install the xp itself and installed the drivers and got installed but this time also no chance of sound, still the volume indicator moving, i tried to install vista, drivers installed but again no sound from the cards.
Now i am clueless what to do, i searched over internet few people suggested to install the microsoft universal audio driver then direct x then the sound card driver and i followed the same but still there is no sound.

So this forum is my final option if not i dont have any other option either to go to a hardware guy or to buy a usb sound card.

Please help me as early as possible.

    Thanks
