I figured this would be a common question, but I didn't see much with search...
I want to disable any/all ability to tap on my touchpad and somehow enable middle-clicking (preferably just click left/right or maybe the 3-finger mac way).
I haven't seen how to do this in the synaptics software (I'd rather not use it anyway), other than using zones.
Is there other software that can be used?

Both of those options are in the Synaptics configuration for my touchpad.

    Middle-clicking is both buttons simultaneously.

I'm downloading it again. I tried it a couple weeks ago, but I didn't see much.

I have the Elantech software for my touchpad. Does anyone know if i can get a better software instead. The one i have is not bad, but frequently it just crashes after my laptop "wakes up from sleep".
N.B: i have a Compal HGL 30 and windows Vista Ultimate

I am running 8.3.4 and I was able to disable tapping, but have yet to find how to do a middle-click. I can manually bind one of the buttons, but I don't want to do that.

    8.2.4.6 from dell did it.
I downloaded the official 8.3.4 and the asus 8.2 and neither had the tab setup that you had. The 8.2.4.6 did exactly what I wanted.
    Thanks...
