I have a Dell Vostro 1320 and my touchpad has decided to stop working in Windows 7 (particularly RC x64). The touchpad works fine in safe mode but does not work nine times out of ten when booting regularly in Windows.

In Device Manager, the touchpad has an exclamation point and the error "This device cannot start. Code 10". I tried re-installing the driver provided by Dell and also the reference driver directly from the Synaptics website and neither fixed the issue.

Doing a little research online, I found that several individuals had similar issues with other Vostros:

Has anyone here expereinced this issue? Any fix/workaround available? I use a seperate Bluetooth mouse anyway but the problem is annoying me nonetheless...

    Thanks.
