I installed windows 7 RC1 on my G5V0t-A2 and love it. I was able to install the drivers from the Asus CD running under "Vista mode" since it was a vista driver disc.

The interesting thing I'm seeing is that every other time I boot into W7 the touchpad does not work at all. But then on the off time it does work.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

I'm going to install the newest synaptics driver tonight and see if that helps.

I have an issue where the multimedia controls on my Asus M70Vm's touchpad don't work.

Basic functions of the touchpad work fine, scroll up/down, double click etc. but wen I tap the word "mode" in the top right corner of the touchpad nothing happens, and it is supposed to light up and give me the multimedia controls, play, next, pause, stop etc. :(

I installed the 64bit driver from the Synapics site because I'm running W7RC 64bit.

I might delete that driver and see if W7 can find one for the device, it may have a preinstalled one that works.

Dunno if that's of any help but if the touchpad you have is the same as mine and you get it fully functional please do tell the rest of us how. :)

I have the same issue. My suspicion is that KB_Filter causes this.

I used to have this issue as well until I completely removed the driver from the system... then reinstalled a newer/better version compatible with my pad.....

    As for raven,

I belive the hot start buttons are broken in W7 for the moment, I have spent a lot of time messing with registry, services, etc to get it to work with no solution.... if I find one Ill let you know

Nope the dualmode buttons aren't broken in W7.

I got them to work by installing the synaptics driver from the drivers CD Asus provide for Vista, both 32bit and 64bit.

I think I also had to change the settings to enable tap zones and dual mode though but they do work.
