I think you have to check device manager if the touchpad was properly detected in the first place.

With an Acer, I would install the Acer driver. If there is not one for Windows 7, then install the Vista version.

    Good luck.

I have a 6930G + W7 X64 and use that driver, works perfect for me. Are you sure you don't have your track pad turned off? (Function key + F7) either that or your touchpad is broken.

It should be working even without the driver, the driver just makes everything better..

    Weird

    No problem ;)

I did have empowering installed then I pulled it along with all the other assocaited apps that the drop down bar comes with - none of it was useful to me and everything had another alternative that was already in windows or things like realtek drivers etc.

The Launch manager that acer have listed for use with W7 X64 is garbage and the reason the volume touch buttons have horrible latency, uninstall it and use the ones listed for Vista X64 and you'll be fine.

HP has Symantics driver v14.0.19 packaged up. Look for the hp file sp47201.exe. I believe (but am not absolutely sure) that this is a multi-OS package good for XP, Vista, and Win7. I use it on Win7 32 and 64 bit.

Acer don't have anything listed under W7X64, i'm pretty sure I was just using the Vista X32 ones - they all worked as well as they did under Vista 32 but I can't say I was impressed with them then either.

eSettings - pointelss, could do all that stuff in the bios anyway and not something i'd have to do often, struck me as lameware targeted for people who don't like the look of dos-shell appearance of bios screens, either that or scared to hit f2 on boot up...

ePower - windows power management is fine for me and adjustable as much as i'd want to.

eDataSecurity - Windows 7 bitlocker and other folder encryption already included would be fine for me if I chose to use them.

eAudio - looked pretty but the windows sound control panel with Realtek's plugin is fine for me as well, and the HDMI auto switching never worked right until I got rid of eAudio

eFramework - pointless if you have none of the above installed, and the system is a little less bloated without it. Now have a new function for that 'e' button.

Do I use Microsoft .Net framework? I have no idea - maybe some other programs do, it is installed but without the sub-options WCF HTTP/non-HTTP Activation checked.
