I am soon going to be traveling, and I have over $2.5k in ""shared"" software.
I know that custom officers don't have much time, and don't usually even ask the passenger to log on, but I am wondering if they will get a bit suspicious if they decide to open my start>all programs menu, OR my "program files" folder.
So, here are my questions:
- If I have expensive software on my laptop, will I need to go through a different custom's channel?
- What else should I consider doing besides hiding away my desktop shortcuts?
- Should I hide whole folders of software? Or is there a really, really, really low chance they will go into one of my Program Files' folders?
BTW I am traveling to Saudi Arabia, and they may quickly skim over my files for any or offensive (politically or religiously) files.

I've traveled to Israel, and their airlines have probably the tightest security there is. And they've never even asked me to even open up my laptop.
Can't say anything about Saudi Arabia though. -
