I tried to install windows 7 on a secondary hard drive on my XP desktop. I put in the Windows 7 disc and up pops the install window I clicked the hard drive I wanted it to install in and when It rebooted it went to a black screen. Then I tried to boot from disc and didn't work. So now XP will not boot up. I have even tried taken the secondary harddrive(one I tried to install 7 on) and it still will not boot XP.

    Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Got past the black screen. Installed windows on the 80 gig(secondary harddrive) still had the problem. But then I unplugged all my USB devices and it got past the screen, still on the installing windows screen though thinking...

Did you make a seperate partition for Windows 7 before installing?

Re-Install XP (if its not working), make a partiton (At least 15 or 20GB), and then re-install Windows 7. ;)
