    hi

im having troubles shutting down windows(media center edition)

basically what happens is when i try to restart/shutdown, windows promptly starts closing programs but then i get this message about "ccapp" program and i choose "end now"(it is from Norton Antivirus im assuming) but then everything stops, the windows doesnt restart/shutdown . it just sits there, im disconnected from the internet, most of the programs are closed and everything but i have to manually shut it down. it is bothering me very much, ive had norton for over 2months now and i dunno what the heck is suddenly wrong with it :-/

    any help is greatly appreciated

have you tried updating Norton lately? I think this was a common issue with norton, and supposedly they fixed it with an update.

If you have, then I would try uninstalling and reinstalling it. The program might have gotten corrupted somehow.

This problem happens a lot. Could be many things like software corruption, windows corruption or just some registry conflict somewhere.

It's very annoying because it's hard to pinpoint the problem and get rid of.

If you can, just reinstall windows and I also suggest using a different antivirus program if you can. Like Avast Pro. Norton used to be a great program, its utilities still are, but the antivirus program just stinks.

Uses too much system resources and it's just buggy as well as Symantec products being the target of many hackers.

    Cheers,
    Mike
