I'd think I'd be able to figure this stuff out by now but I haven't.
I want to use TrueCrypt to to password protect a 4GB USB (not the entire usb) with with Portable Apps. I just want to make it so the portable apps start up menu won't run, or someone be able to access the folders within portable apps before entering a password.
I've extracted TC to the USB, but I'm not sure how to make the start menu and portable apps folders password protected.

TC has some pretty in-depth documentation. Did it shed any light on your conundrum?

I'll try reading it again. I did make an encrypted file on the USB but I couldn't add anything with or to it, so I deleted it.

Have you visited the TC forums? They look pretty busy, and if anyone knows how to do what you want, it would be some of the expert members.

Thanks, I'll try the TC forum.
In the meantime, if anyone here sees the post and has done what I want feel free to post -
so you say you have created the truecrypt volume already on the USB?
in order to access the volume, you need to mount it first. open truecrypt, select a drive letter to mount on, click browse and open the volume, then type in the password.
once this is done, your truecrypt volume will be available under the drive letter you chose. -
OK, got it now I think. I can mount the file then move all my portable apps into it. Once I click on the file, I need to enter my password and mount to open portable apps. That sound right?
