I have an HP and just recently downgraded my BIOS. When I did this, the network connections re-installed and are now called network connection #2. Pardon me for being anal, but I want to delete the #2. I have tried editing the registry as an admin, but I still get the error about not being able to change the friendly name. Its MY pc, but vista doesn't seem to think so!
Any ideas?

Log in the right account
-
There is only ONE account.
-
What does it say in the error message?
-
Is it a "standard user" account or "administrator" account?
-
you can just rename it..
-
It is an adminstrator account as noted.
And NO, you cannot just rename it.
The error message says unable to change friendly name and gives no reason why not.
