I have all my files on my SSD and trying to delete the last remaining files on my HDD in secondary bay...these include the Windows folder, Program Files, Program Files (x86), and ProgramData. I try to delete these and it says I need permission from TrustedInstaller. I went here: Permissions For File Deletion? - Windows 7 Forums and did the Take ownership shortcut, but when I right click the files there is no option for Take ownership. What should I do?

Easier way would be to boot with Windows 7 DVD, and format the secondary drive in the drive options via the Windows 7 installer.

Ok however this is not possible at this moment as I dont have an external optical drive yet. and also I dont want to reinstall windows again...I dont understand why its so hard to simply delete these folders which serve no purpose on my secondary drive?

Grab a parted magic iso and create a live usb drive with it and boot from it. That will allow you to format your second hard drive without an optical drive.

You could also create a live usb drive using a Windows 7 image if you have one.

just get the rights to those folders manually, not with that stupid takeownership tool.

rightclick, properties, permissions, ownership, take ownership. something like this.

other than that, just format that disk/partition if nothing else of worth is on it anyways.

I can try this, but youd have to explain a bit more, I have not the slightest clue how to do that :(

This is what I have been trying to do. I go to properties and security, I try to change permissions but it wont let me check the boxes on any of the profiles. As far as formatting it what is the best way to do that and if I do the windows disk way then I have to reinstall windows again?

If you end up following this from Junglebungle U should be OK, no need to reinstall win 7, or try this:
Login with an account that has administrator rights, Then boot from the C (windows) drive and open disk management right click Disk D and format ..
congrats on you new AW- It must run great with the SSD

Wow that worked! Thanks a lot and yea it is wicked fast, and the SSD makes everything instantaneous just trying to perfect my system now. My last question is about Disk Partitions but I posted that in another thread below this one...check it out if you can help

don't go to permissions, go to advanced there, and then ownership. make you (or "administrators") the owner.

formatting: just rightclick the disk and say "format". doesn't affect your windows-on-ssd installation.
