Just bought a Asus G60 JX at Best Buy today. Was using Windows Uninstaller to uninstall Best Buy bloatware including trialsoftware and machine locked up.
Wont respond to task manager, control alt delete, won"t turn off neither with pressing power button, nor will turn off when the laptop is shut. Just sits there with power still on, and system locked up.

ANY advice is much appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    pull the battery.

If the machine is 'broken', take it back to BB for a full refund. DO NOT bite on their 'repair'. Insist that they take your machine back.

You don't have to pull the battery. Just hold down the power button for 10 seconds.

OP already said holding the power button does not work. Taking the battery out to shut down is the only option.

OP didn't say about "holding" the power button. Pressing the power button is different from holding it for 5 secs.

But we all know just "pressing" the power button won't shut down the system, sometimes it's not even enough to bring up the shutdown options. So we, (or I) would've assumed it was meant be taken as held down.

Who knows, some clarification from the OP would be great :)

If holding the power button for around 10 seconds does not do the trick, then pull the battery.

My view, as far as electronics go, is that if there are *any* problems with it during the return period just return it immediately and get a new one. Don't spend too much time troubleshooting this one and just take it back if you can't fix it ASAP.

I agree with Greg. You just don't want to risk it. For all we/you know, the day after the return period it could do the same thing and not work. If it's fine for a few days, then keep it, if you come across any other problems, or this one persists, swap it.
