Hi.
i tried doing a fresh install of Win 7 ultimate but when going through the install had to choose between 2 drives/ppartitions,
so I went to computermanager .. then storage then disk management and saw the 2 partitions, one 275gb the other 25gb, and as im doing a fresh install of win7 ultimate dont want 2 separate drives,
so after watching a youtube video i deleted the smaller 25gb parittion volume, then right clicked the bigger partition to expand but the option isnt available,
so now i ave a 25gb partition unallocated and dont know how to combine the two drives, so when i go to fresh install win7 i can just select the one big drive
any ideas how i can combine the 2 partitions when the option isnt there?

i ran the fresh install but there was no options to edit or remove the partitions,
so i just finished the install, and the 25gb partition has created a windows.old folder.
would it be safe to just delete this windows.old folder?
besides what i've tried, is there any other way i can combine the two partitions?
i tried using that freeware but it wont let me combine the partitions into one
it annoys me there is 25gb just floating around unused and wasted, there must be a way to combine it to the main partition
also, as i used to just use win7 home premium, i have noticed that on win7 ultimate everything is larger - font size, windows, icons, texts, its all alot bigger
is this normal?
its annoying because on google chrome i have 18 bookmarks on the bookmarks bar, but now only 10 are showing because everything is bigger (so takes up more room)
i want it the same smaller size as win7 home premium, is this possible? if so how do i make everything smaller, like it is on win 7 64 bit home premium
thank you -
Windows disk management will only allow you to extend using free space after the partition you want to extend, not before so it is normal that it doesn't work. gparted will be able to do what you want.
For larger text and UI, change the DPI setting back to 100%, if you have a 1080p display, Windows 7 tends to set itself to 125% by default. -
thanks but it is already on the smallest 100% DPI setting,
is there any other way to make resolution smaller?
