    Hi

Is there a software that will allow me to bring down the brightness of a laptop monitor down than the original software will? I have a similar software for my cellphone...from the built-in settings, I can turn down the brightness so low, but with an external app, i can crank it down even more.

    Thanks

Doubtful. Those things are typically limited by the BIOS and the physical backlight of the screen (different than how a cell phone display works). There's probably no way to turn the brightness any lower than Windows lets you.

It would be useful though. I find the screen on my G73 too bright for me even on the lowest setting.

Ubuntu 10.04 turns down the brightness all the way down (no backlight) in my Vaio FZ, whereas Windows 7 can't do that.
