I am using Win Vista Pre Home. But i don't like the default logon way, to choose a user then type password.

Anybody can help me how to turn on classic logon way like WinXP, type a user and password

    tks a lot

You and me both were probably thinking of the same thing :D, unfortunatly secpol.msc isn't available in Vista Home Premium.

Darn Microsoft and their different versions

    EDIT: I can't google myself :p

OP: you'll have to go into the registry since you don't have secpol.msc,

ONLY DO THIS IF YOUR COMFORTABLE AND CREATE A RESTORE POINT (Start button-type "system restore" (no quotes)-hit enter-Click "System protection" link then "create" button) FIRST! ONE WRONG MOVE AND YOU COULD BE FORCED TO REINSTALL WINDOWS!

Now that that's taken care of, go ahead and click start. In the search box type regedit. When "regedit.exe" is displayed in the menu, right click it and choose "run as administrator" Go through the UAC prompt.

Now navigate the file tree on the left of the registry editor window to end up here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DontDisplayLastUserName

(if you don see DontDisplayLastUserName, make sure you click the "system" folder and not on the triangle beside it.)

Double click on the DontDisplayLastUserName value and change it from 0 to 1. Click Ok on the dialog box and close the Registry Editor.

Now try logging out and back in. :)
