Hi,
When pressing F3 to bring up the Windows Vista search if you click on the 'Advanced Search' arrow you'll see that for location it is set to Desktop;Public Desktop. This is a annoying because who only searches on their desktop? Is there a way to make 'Everywhere' the default location? I have indexing turned off, BTW.

Using Win-F instead of F3 gets me "Indexed Locations". I don't know if it's different with indexing off.
If you press Win-E then you can use the Search box in that window, and it'll search your computer... -
You're right. With win+f it's automatically set to search everywhere, with F3 it defaults to searching the desktop which makes absolutely no sense. Thanks!

I agree that it's not terribly useful though. But it is consistent.
