1) in Word 2010, how do I save a document with the markups of the document OFF? I know i need to go to "review" and then change it from "Show markup" to just "final" but when I do that, save the document and re-open it, its back to showing the markups again?
2) How do you delete an extra page in a document that is blank? I used to push that weird looking symbol on top that shows all parapgarp marks and then just delet them and that would delete the last blank page i had but for some reason, word 2010 wont allow me to delete them?

Don't you just love the "Improved" Word and Excel?? They spent lots of time and effort to fix something that wasn't broke and they broke it. May force me to move to Open Source.

You need to hit the "Track Changes" button to turn the markups off/on.
To delete an extra page, just go to the last line of the page and hit delete and backspace until the extra page disappears. It's possible that you may have done some other kind of formatting that may be causing this.

I love how they improved Word and Excel. For those that just love to bash, do understand that if you keep your eyes closed, you'll never be able to see the actual improvements.
The newest version of Excel leverages multiple cores and actual let's the GPU take care of drawing the graphs unlike the older versions. This helps when you're plotting like 20,000 data points or more on a graph.
The newest version of World allows for easy navigation in large documents. Create some templates and you're all set for future documents. You need to actually properly use the features. Otherwise, you really can't complain if you won't spend the time to do a quick Google search to find out how to do something.
I have used Open Source. In fact, I use LaTeX for research papers/publications. However, I use Word for creating documents that I send out to a general audience. -
If you accept all changes, then save with track changes still on, certain formatting will still show. It's an annoying bug with word going back to at least office 2003.
For the last page issue, do you see any page/section/column breaks? Those will generate extra pages until you get rid of them. If you want to be sure all changes are gone, do an inspect doc, under bigball>prepare. That can help you check for hidden changes and other extraneous data.
