Hey guys! I am planning to install Windows 10 on my Lenovo Y50 with a WD Black2 dual drive and AUO B156HAN01.2. I currently have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit installed on BIOS (should have done the UEFI installation this summer), and I have burned the Windows 10 Pro 64-bit DVD. I have a few questions regarding my install.
1. I would like to convert my OS from BIOS to UEFI before my installation. I know that just changing my motherboard settings to only use UEFI OS'es will block my BIOS-installed Windows 7 from working, which means if I install Windows 10, I will not have a "genuine copy." Therefore, how can I go from BIOS Windows 7 to UEFI Windows 10?
2. Can UEFI install from disc? Or do I have to have a USB flash drive for it?
3. Does formatting the MBR to GPT require a backup of data? Is there a non-destructive way to convert?
Thank you in advance!

1 - Use gatherosstate.exe from the Windows 10 DVD, this allows you to perform a clean install and still get the free upgrade activation. See instructions: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/th...ut-going-through-the-complete-upgrade-process

@vistastructions
You can convert your existing Windows installation from BIOS/MBR to UEFI/GPT prior to installing 10 using this guide. I did it yesterday and confirm everything's great. -
So, if you are saying that you actually converted your Windows 7/8.1 from BIOS to UEFI and everything remained the same and Windows was still activated, can you show me how to do that? I'd like to do that ASAP actually! -

@vistastructions,
I just followed all instructions in the link, and my system remained functional, without data or activation loss. Used a flash drive with Windows 7 Ultimate installation, however, not sure if Windows 10 installation disk will do - but if not you can always download a Windows 7 installation/recovery disk.
