    After having failed my SP1 installation on Vista and doing some research. I came to know that if you are running a vLite installation be it XP or Vista, you won't be able to install a service pack

    You can if you integrate SP1 into a fresh Vista install then use vLite.

    I made a bootable vista dvd from the set up files in my hard drive(see my sig.) and did a clean install. Will this affect me? I didn't remove any components when using vlite.

    1. nLite is used to play with XP, not vLite;
    2. nuhi said earlier during development that SP1 is not supported. He tried to mess around with Server 2008, but whenever you tried to install a feature or role it would fail.

    Not 100% sure but I think it would. Because when I tried installing SP1 long back on my laptop, which comes preloaded with Vista Business, it did not load giving me some error. So I formatted and did a clean install and it worked. So I'm guessing the factory preloaded files have some components or files missing. Example: my Vista Business that comes preloaded from Sony doesn't have the games. and you can't even add them through control panel's add/remove I tried 100s of times.

    You know you can integrate SP3 into XP and also edit your OS as well with nLite.

    Just a heads up.
