My school is very strict on word counts, and I cannot delete a single word more from a crucial assignment! Is there any way to embed WITHIN THE DOCUMENT ITSELF a way to exclude a word from being counted? Our teachers are requiring that we submit an electronic (Word) copy of our work, so the exclusion of the word has to be embedded within the document itself!!

    Any way to do this?

    Thanks so much!

    how bad is this ?
i remember these outlines too : you should not use more than 2000 words.......

you´ve got to elaborate on a certain topic, and even if you have written some words more than "necessary" - i still think it´s more the content that counts, rather than doing it in a certain range of words used.

and if they see it in any other way, they should leave out the word stupid while counting - everytime you use it.

There is a way to do that...
U can Input Text as Header or Footer & Select it for Specific page only. The inbuilt word counter excludes Header & footer by default. By using the Margin scale..u can bring it close to the main paragraph.

I used to invent lot of Digital techniques of cheating..

U know...u can even cheat the Plagiarism software 'turnitin' .

I noticed that putting your text into a text box, the word count does not count the words, as my friend and i have done similar pages, my turned out to have 1000 words less than him and i have done 5 pages and hes done 4, try text boxes.

OK, so 1) "Header and Footer" text; and 2) Text boxes.

How do I put words in headers and footers? I'm going to try to figure that out now!

Thanks so much for your help guys.

    Nocturnal,

I'm using Word 07. Could you please tell me how to put text inside of a header and "select it for a specific page only"? When I use a header, it places the text all the way at the top of the page and looks really conspicuous.
