This is referring to a 4Gb USB Flash drive formatted in FAT32 in Windows 7.
Yesterday morning, the plug and play for my USB flash drive still works. But by afternoon, somehow it just won't get recognised by Windows. My computer won't show that it exists.
Disk Management shows it, and recognises that it's "H:", but doesn't show the capacity and amount of space used.
Devices And Printers recognises it as USB Mass Storage Device.
Could it be that the partition table is corrupt? I don't want to format it as it contains my uni reports and such.

Nope. Because it can't even be seen in My Computer. I've tried the chkdsk method already.

try these.

Ok I'll try those. I uninstalled all my USB drivers then restarted to let Windows Update install them again. And for a brief moment "Removable Disk (H: )" appeared in My Computer. And Windows makes that sound when I plug it in. So there's still hope!
EDIT: None of them detected the flash drive. I just don't understand how Devices can detect it as a USB Mass Storage, but not mount it.
