The only two things I connect to my Dell I6000 are a 4GB USB 2 quickie drive HD and my Treo 650 via USB cable. Over the past few months, I seem to get more and more messages when connecting these items "USB device not recognized". I end up plugging and unplugging these devices from the 4 USB ports over and over until one of them finally works. It seems to be different ports at different times and no particular pattern that I can see. It's very annoying and because it doesn't seem that one port in particular is the problem (ie; I can get the message on any given port one day and the next day that same port will connect just fine with the device). Any suggestions on how best to go about fixing this?

Do you have all the latest drivers and BIOS available on dell's site?
That would be a good place to start if it is a common issue. -
I thought I did but after checking there site, there is a notebook system utility update that says it addresses USB devices, so I'll give it a try and see. Thanks for the suggestion.
"USB device not recognized" over and over again?!?!?
