Greetings - I tried to use my Toshiba U405 restore DVD's to load a newer (faster) HDD for it - and several restore attempts failed. So - I imaged the working drive (Vista 64) using Ghost 8. I new it wouldn't boot - since imaging with Ghost 8 breaks the boot manager - so I ran a repair on it with a Vista DVD. The good thing is it boots just fine - but it goes to a login screen now. Whenever I try to login, it hesitates for a few seconds, then says its logging off - over and over again. Has anyone encountered this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? TIA...

Can't say about recovering from Ghost 8 imaging. How about downloading Acronis True Image and use the trial to image the original drive? This, I know, would work.

    cheers ...
