When it starts to install it asked where you would like to install it at. Nothing comes up. It says there are no drives. There is a HD, but it does not have a CD drive. I'm having to install the OS from a flash drive. The flash drive works, because when I restarted the desktop with the flash drive in it, it asked to reboot.
Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help.

Did you previously have XP loaded?
Not knowing which model you have; you might check the Dell website to see if there is a BIOS flash that is required to load Vista.
