    Hi,
I have CyberLink PowerDVD in my PC.
I am not able to view videos of file extension .avi. The properties if these files shows NeroShowTime.Files8.mp3. I am able to hear the audio but cannot view the video.
Can u pls help me out with this issue.

you might need the codecs. try free-codecs.com for a codec pack

also powerdvd may not be able to play such files, try media player classic or vlc player for avi files

And you're posting in the wrong section IMO :p.

Basically for files with .avi/.mkv/.wmv you can use media player classic (git it from www.cccp-project.net). Get Quicktime alternative for playing .mov files. Get Realplayer alternative for playing .rma or .rmv (or whatever that junky format's extension is). For playing DVDs, Media Player should suffice, but PowerDVD works just as well, and sometimes better.

I use powerDVD for most of my video viewing, just get the codec packs that SideSwipe linked you to and it should work. IMO it does better video that VLC does, but VLC will play pretty much anything.

Moved to Windows OS and Software.

Videolan Client (VLC) will play just about anything, but Nero Showtime has played a couple of oddball files that even VLC couldn't handle.
