    Unable to restart or shutdown laptop..

    Somebody pls. advise how i can resolve issue of 'Boot Acceptance Registry' ?

    I suspect this is the reason for not being able to shutdown or restart laptiop..

    try this command to restart and see if you're then able to shutdown the normal way.

    click start menu -> run
    type in
    shutdown -s -f -t 00

    does shut down using the syntax, but still has'nt solved the problem.
    i use CCLEANER from time to time.., i think it's messed my registry....

    I never saw such a message... I have had shutdown problems related to removing my USB hubs from my laptop without using "safely remove hardware" - but else, no...

    I have used CCleaner on a registry too in the past - (gettig rid of Wnamp junk) - while I wouldn't necessarily recommend it on Vista, it hasn't caused any such problems for me (min you, I nowadays look at every entry)
