    Hi,
I am currently using Hp Compaq 8510w. My Vista Business 32 bit was messed up and I download Windows Server 2008 64 bit from Dreamspark.com for free and installed. This OS is amazing. However, I am not able to use the card reader function anymore. I tried to find the driver on hp.com but no sucess. Is there any other way to get my memory card reader working? Thanks!

You'll need a 64 bit driver. And that might not even do it sometimes, since the drivers don't always translate perfectly from Vista to Server 2008. I suggest you go back to Vista.

yeah, a clean vista installation (or win7 if you want, dunno) would be best. should perform just as well as the server, but is actually targeted for you. the server is so not ment to be used for general daily usage, or are your main apps configuring bit network storage pools, active directories and it's policies, and remote apps on the laptop? no? then, get rid of it :)

the high performance of the os comes from two things: one, a big placebo effect, and two, the fact that it just lacks tons of userfriendlyness that vista, win7 etc bring with it.

i suggest a clean 64bit vista installation, but first, restore back to your default setup, and use ABR (activation backup and restore) to get your original activation saved. then reinstall, and use that (there are guides for it in this very forum, check in the hp section, f.e.)
