Hi, it's my first post here... My Averatec will overheat doing anything, so I run Notebook Hardware Control at Max Battery which makes it run at 600Mhz, which is nice and stops my laptop from overheating but when doing certain things it would be nice to be able to run at like 900Mhz or 1.0Ghz etc... to get more out of my 1.6Ghz cpu. So I was wondering if there was a way I could get Notebook Hardware Control or another program to like run as fast as possible without going over a set temperature? Thanks

What happens when you set it to Dynamic Switching? Also, can you alter your fan settings in NHC? It's pretty complicated, but it might help if you know what you're doing. Have you tried undervolting at different multiples? That would really lower your heat production.

I've tried dynamic switching but it doesn't switch back fast enough... like it will switch to 1.6ghz and then the temp will skyrocket to like 90 degrees and sometimes won't switch back before my **** laptop overheats and turns off.
I'm not really sure how to go about "undervolting at different multiples" ? -
What CPU do you have?
Use RM Clock as you set the min/max voltage and it interpolates to get the different voltages. If you have a core duo it cant be lowered more than 0.95v @ 6x. The Pentium M can be lowered more than that, 0.7 i think.
