Have you tried restarting your computer after the deletion and checking the Add/Remove panel again?

You might try a search of your computer and then delete the McAfee items that turn up.

Does the Mcafee show up in the start menu or down in the bootom right system tray? It could be removed, but i doubt it.

Try deleting it in the start menu, and exiting out of it also but by right clicking the "M" in the system tray and hit exit

A system search would only take about 30 seconds, alvin. We just went through a similar situation with my son's desktop not long ago, though the culprit was Norton, not McAfee. Not quite as easy as using the Add/Delete in the Contol Panel, but almost.

You could try reinstalling McAffe then uninstalling it.

Reformat? Over that? You could search through the registry (if you are comfortable) using regedit in the start>run box. Look for all things in there that have to do with the program in all sections under software and delete then. Then go into your main drive (c?) and delete anything there to do with it. I have removed many programs from my desktop that way and never had a problem. And if you are really careful and search your drive to get rid of all traces there will be none left. But do be warned if you decide to play in the registry and are not aware of the problems you could cause, I will no be responsible, although it is pretty easy.
