    Uninstalling Windows XP

    I would like to unistall XP so that I can use my 500gb drive to simply store data. I also want to keep the data that's on it

    Oops my brain was going faster than my fingers again so I left some things out. basically I just want to know if there's a way to uninstall XP without having to wipe my drive. I'm a noob, so yeah :)

    Whats the difference from formatting ? :p

    Not really, what you can do is to partition your disk, copy all the data you want on the new partition then format, that way you wont loose anything. Or an external hdd, or a dvd if their size is not big.

    well, if you don't boot from it, just delete the windows and programs folders, just make sure you don't delete your own data, but everything around.

    if you have it still listed as a boot option, you have to fix that. that's another topic :)
