Does anybody know of a SOFTWARE(not a hardware device like an upconvert DVD player) program that can sharpen video when converting from one format to the next, or just improve resolution and video clarity if re-sizing , or just improve video quality. I tryed using AVS video converter and then slected Divx HD as the target conversion format--no success ( picture quality looked the same) and I also tryed a video enhancement program which improved color clarity a little( very little) and I also did a google search on this subject which always suggests some type of hardware device will be needed. I know that somewhere out the there has got to be some type of program that will increase frame rates and interpolate approximations of sharper images using some type of fuzzy logic( of course that is just a wild guess).

Nvidia has software if you have their graphics card. You have to buy it though.

Instead of sending me a PM asking to PM you a link, post your questions in the forum. Why do half here and half in PM's? I never get that...

A google search reveled a link...

If you want professional results, you can try the Sony Vegas line. I've used it in the past, and was always very impressed with the video tools.

Adobe Premier Pro CS3, but this is a very professional software, not cheap either.

For the record, you just can't expect to use any quality video source and make it become super high quality. No matter how good the software is, if the source is very low quality, the output will be low quality too. You can enhance it to a certain degree, but that's it. There is no way around it. Garbage in, garbage out. This is why when they film HD stuff, they need to use special HD movie cameras.

Try Vegas or Premier. Any other freeware/shareware products will pale by comparison.

A lot of the freeware options are a pain in the rear to use.
