So I went through, installed SP1 for Vista, defragged my drive, did some other random cleanup, and locked my pagefile at 2345mb. Now, for whatever reason, I get blue screens whenever I try to download a torrent (happened using flashget and utorrent), and a couple times even without that. Only error from the blue screen I can recall is something along the lines of
    Page_error_in_unpaged_location
or something of that sort. Any one have any ideas?

Turn off auto restart after a blue-screen and write down the error message next time it happens. Check the event viewer for errors. We can work from there.

Why don't you let the system manage the size of the pagefile? I don't want to sound aggressive or challenging, but do you know better? The BSOD you mentioned is reporting that it had to do with your pagefile.

I had set the pagefile before without such errors, so I wasn't expecting it this time, but it makes sense - I was just wondering if there was another possible cause, especially since it seems linked to torrents. I'll make sure to write things down next time.

This is what I got from the "problem details" after windows starts - the BSOD gave me a STOP and a bunch of generic info (nothing about page this time - this was linked to a torrent).

Unfortanetely you have Vista and I have XP, so I can't help out too much, but I'd try searching for the error. I'd also reinstall the bittorrent program and check the event viewer.

it's probably best to leave things like that alone, there is no point messing with them.

It seems like it was due to sp1 - I uninstalled, and haven't been thrown out on a torrent yet. I'll wait 'till the actual release I suppose. If anyone has any explanation or has seen something similar, do share.
