I use an 8 GB flash drive for my back-up for all 3 of my computers (2 laptops) Obviously I don't store a lot of data. They are mostly word-processing files.

Is there any software I can use that will check my original HD I am backing up to see if there have been any changes compared to the previously stored files on my Flash Drive? And also let me choose if I want to replace or update each file before the software actually does it?

You could try Acronis and its incremental backups.

I also forgot about Dropbox which is a lot easier to use than my previous suggestion.

I use allwaysync, it's quite flexible and thus my favourite (but the ui got a little bulky trough all the feature-ads)
