    Ok I have windows vista 64bit sp2
I have done 3 clean installs of it in the past
I hate reinstalling the OS because I lose all my programs and stuff.
I have heard that you can automaticlly upgrade straight from vista to w7 without losing any apps. Is this true?
Has anybody done this and if there are problems what are they?

Another question I have recently upgraded my graphics card drivers. Will have have to do that all over again?

Several people on these forums have done an in-place upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 RC (Build 7100) and had success. One thing you could do is make a complete image of your machine (using Macrium Reflect for example, which is free), so that if something does go wrong you can simply re-image your drive with your existing Vista install. It's what I intend to do once I clear space on my external drive to do a full backup (not easy when you have 400+ GB of content to backup :p).

Another way to go if something goes wrong during the upgrade, I believe you can use the Add/Remove Programs list to revert back to Vista.

I am not totally certain, but I think it will be fine. Windows 7 plays nice with existing items in the boot menu, which Wubi modifies so it can support dual-booting Windows with Ubuntu.

I'd actually refrain from even trying VistaGlazz on Windows 7, since it's got a bunch of changes to the taskbar and other things.

I have an inklink that Ubuntu/Wubi would still work fine if you still kept it and did the upgrade. Guess we'll find out when I attempt this on the weekend. :D p

well I upgraded and everything worked fine

I still uninstalled ubuntu and vista glazz before i upgraded
I like the new taskbar very much

    I have a question though

during the upgrade i was prompted to enter a product code

I had this product code saved on my desktop in a notepad file and I couldn't acces it when it asked me too put it in.....so i just hit next....w7 is working fine but is there anyway to get this option so I can put the product code the microsoft gave me in?

right-click on computer and go to Properties. At the very bottom you will find a link to Enter your product key.
