I am currently running windows xp on my acer aspire 1690 laptop, I have a copy of windows 7 but am hesitant to install it as people I have talked to say I may find myself with incompatible drivers, and the only drivers for this laptop available through the acer website are those for windows xp, and I don't have a copy of windows xp incase I end up having problems in windows 7. I am just wondering if anyone has any knowledge of the problems I might encounter, how I could fix them, or if I should even bother upgrading this laptop.

    thanks.

download the windows 7 compatibility app from microsoft. It will check if your pc is able to run win7 and what drivers are available

    thanks
the report concluded that I would have problems with my ATI desktop component and my Intel PRO/wireless 2200bg network connection. When I went to the intel website to check for drivers it said my driver was current, is this only because I have not installed windows 7 yet? Also, is there a windows 7 fix for the ati desktop component?
