Hey Jack, I tried testing IE8 to see the flash speed. But it's not even loading Youtube videos unless I use compatibility mode. What a pain.

Edit: Finally loaded, but it's at least as slow as Firefox. I tried an HD youtube video. I don't know if this is because of the simple speed tweaks I did, but yeah, Firefox kept up.

Almost, but there are some strange colors. like why do the tabs change color?
    pink, yellow, blue...

I dont like wasting time setting up sites for compatibility. So I just set it to "display all sites in compatibility view", but it still is not fully compatible.

me too, IE8 is not compatible and it's sloooow.
I know it's not IE8s fault that sites arn't updated to be compatible, but what did microsoft expect?

Maybe my graphics card sucks, but IE8 doesn't let me scroll pages smoothly.

I will try to stick with it a bit longer but it's really bad.

I mentioned the font difference on the previous page - I looked it up just now, and it is indeed because of ClearType that it looks different (and, in my opinion, worse). Fortunately, there is a somewhat simple way to turn it off, as described here (the site is for IE7, but it works with IE8, too). I don't understand why it doesn't just read the system setting and use that, but at least it can be forced to use the system setting manually.

Maybe now I won't be tempted to keep on boosting IE6's marketshare versus IE7 and IE8. Not that I do a whole lot anyways - Windows Update is my most-visited site with IE. Ought to make it my IE homepage.

Chrome v4 is so fast. I also have Kaspersky IS 2010 which has ad-block feature too :)

    Thanks for the links jack,
    I disabled clear type
The text is better, but the whole pastel colors thing is annoying. It is unnecessary
Do you know of any way to customize IE8 to look more like IE6?
