Well my friend has given me a Windows 7 Professional RTM ISO image from MSDN and i've preordered Windows 7. My question is quite simple, is it possible for me to install the ISO without a product key and then activate it when I get my product key on the 22nd?

Should not be a problem. I myself am running an unactivated copy, and plan to activate it once I'm comfortable making it my production OS.

Yes, as long as you pre-ordered is Windows 7 Professional you can install using the MSDN ISO and then activate it when you receive your product key.
