    Hi there

I have a Canon Powershot A75 and recently got a Vista laptop. I have loaded the camera software on the new machine, and it all seems to work fine, but when I plug in the camera, Windows can see it, but the Canon software can't. I really want to keep using the camera's software, but don't know what is wrong. I do not have an internet connection so I can't just pop online to check. Can anyone help please!!

I would recommend checking with the Canon Support website for software and firmware updates for Vista first.

    http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=320&modelid=9828

I hope this helps you out. :)

Canon's software is probably not compatable with bloody "Vista"

Xp reads my PowerShot A640 purrfectly. Never an issue in about 2000 photo's now.

    Cheers,
    Theo

^ he said vista reads it. Canons software doesnt.

Which makes me think the camera drivers arent installed properly

Go to the Canon website and look around

Thanks guys! I found an updater file on the Canon website and it seems to be working ok now. Big change in interface though, so will have to get used to that.

To be honest, I am enjoying it somewhat, but I am still irritated at some of the issues. Like my Nero version (I know, old) doesn't work and I just can't afford the £45 needed for the new version right now. I have Photoshop, also an old version, etc, etc. I just can't afford the massive upgrade required for all software. Not on top of the notebook!

Thanks for the help anyway. I do love this site!
