Anything deleted from the Recycle bin is unrecoverable. You might want to try System restore. But this will restore only system files.

    False.

I don't think it will bring back ALL the contents you deleted. But should most.

refrain from saving or downloading any new data untill you recover those files. If you do, you have a higher chance of these files being written over. Refrain from deleting temp files, or defraging the HD. I use getdataback. It seems to work fairly well.

Ah, glad to see you got 90% back at least.
Only think I can think of is re-scan or try another program.

And for future reference get shift+del out of habit. ;p

What a relief! I lost on one movie out of 8.

The movie was 'The Insider' starring Al Pacino & Russell Crowe.. hence i wanted it the most.. anyway.
i know a friend who has the DVD.

Thanks Guys! And especially McGrady !

+ rep to each of you.

Back up your important data files on DVD or CD.

You escaped this time, luckily! Next time, you might not be as lucky.

A good backup for me is a simple external drive. Every once in awhile, I just copy specific folders to the drive and disconnect until I use it again.

I have inadvertently "deleted" many things before, which I then just retrieve from the external......

    :)

    Noc,

Haven't you learned your lesson yet? After losing your Firefox data, and now your movies, Get True Image and make some backups! True Image will also help with your new HDD question you had a week or so ago.

    Acronis True Image

An external drive is a good tool, but if you have really important data, then you should also keep a hard media copy. Something like your high school videos or wedding photos should be archived on DVD or CD.

As media changes, update your backups to new media. If all of your backups are on 5 1/4 disks, for example!
