Hello...
This is a follow-up from the "Partition broken" thread.
Acer AS 5920G, 160hd, GF8600GT, Vista Home Premium, 2gb RAM
I will quickly resume the problem:
0. Bought new Notebook, installed, everything shines.
1. Merged 1st and 2nd ("C:" and "D:") partitions into one whole "C:"
2. Bought DVDs to make the Recovery discs.
3. Found out the Recovery program needs the D: partition
4. Using MS Disk Manager, I shrinked C: as MS site instructions say.
5. Lost my unallocated space, doesn't appear anywhere.
6. Installed Partition Manager 8 to manage the partitions correctly.
7. Booted
8. Computer won't start.
I tried every option from the Windows DOS start menu (Last Known Good Config., Safe Mode, etc. etc.). Nothing works.
Safe Mode hangs up at:
disk.sys
What the hell is going on??? I can't use my computer anymore, the Windows Setup in the Notebook won't even start as well. I don't know what to do.
I got this computer at Argentina from Europe, so if I want it to be repaired, I have to send it back to Europe, that's quite difficult for me.
And I need this computer to work, I was almost done copying all sensitive information to it when this happened.
Please, I'm quite desperate here, so any idea will be helpful.
I'm about to try and install XP on a separate partition to see if I can do anything from there...
Thanks a lot guys.

Looks like you messed up your MBR
-
To fix the Master boot record, boot from your Vista DVD and use the repair options to run either fixboot or fixmbr.

Nothing works for me.I delete the MBR using HITACHI DISK REPAIR TOOL. -

if you cant reapair it use something like the ultimate boot cd to wipe yourt hard disk and re-install the OS.
Well, that's one option.
Urgent: I'm in an urgent need of assistance, my notebook won't start. Please...
