Hello everybody. I do not have much experience in "ghosting" a drive, but I am trying to make an exact replica of my C drive that has Vista install so that I can try a clean install of Windows 7 RTM.

I used USBD4win and successfully did this but when I look at the properties of my external hard drive compared to my C drive, the bytes do not add up. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?

    (C) = 143,237,312,512 bytes 133 GB
    (E) = 122,055,655,424 bytes 113 GB

Hm, and before I typed those figures in here, my E drive which is my external drive had said 132 GB used and suddenly changed to 113 GB.

I don't understand why that would happen. I'm pretty sure I am doing something wrong here so if someone offer me an explanation and some advice on the easiest most effective way to accomplish what I'm trying to I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

if the drives are different capacities they may have different formatting file sizes.
