    Are there user accounts in Vista like there was on XP?

    Yes, there are user accounts. I don't think that Microsoft wants to take users out of the operating system, as they were quite liked by most consumers. There were some programs that didn't like it, but its there, and for pretty much the whole part, its a good thing.
