Hi,
I just re-installed x64 Vista on my Dell XPS M1530. I got most of the drivers from Windows Update, but I would like to update a few myself. Specifically, my audio and graphics drivers.
My question is, should I use DriverSweeper when uninstalling the old drivers? Is it needed? And if so, do I:
1) Uninstall the old driver(s) via a program like CCleaner or Windows Add/Remove Programs
2) Boot in safe mode and run DriverSweeper and use it to clean
3) Boot again normally and then install the new drivers
Is that how it is supposed to go?
Thank you!

I usually use Driver Sweeper right after the removal of the "old" drivers. Rebooting into Safe Mode sometimes leaves the door open for Windows to try to re-install the drivers when it sees a new device. Not with graphic driver, but surely with other devices.
cheers ...
Using DriverSweeper.
